Platform Products Field Notes
Platform Products Field Notes is a periodic collection of “field notes,” or detailed lessons with real-world examples, related to building user-focused platforms and managing portfolios of platform use cases for B2B and enterprise. Topics will include: platform team building and leadership, making technology and architecture decisions, incorporating AI and automation into business workflows, using AI in development practices, managing compliance, going from point solution to platform, and other related topics. I will always speak from my own experience building platform products and provide real-life examples and data.
My background is firmly in the platform product space. I’ve been working with data and machine learning since 2004 and have been involved in the development of 6 multi-use-case platforms. This includes both 0 to 1 platform development at start-ups and scale-ups, as well as contributing to large established platforms like Cortana and Xbox at Microsoft.
If you’re interested in platform products, AI and data, or developing for business and enterprise, hopefully you find practical tips and perspectives that help you in your work.
